Hi Family!
I missed catching up with everyone at the reunion this past summer! I hope you are all doing well.
I will start with the most exciting news in my life, I got engaged on November 1st, 2008 to Jason Key from Atlanta, Georgia. I am SO happy that we’ll be spending our lives together, I feel very blessed to have found such a wonderful, perfect partner in life. We are planning a Fall wedding on the beach in California. Stay tuned for more on that…
Outside of that big news, I am still at Oakley, just had my 5-year anniversary in December. Our company is doing well during these trying economic times, there may be some changes with my position soon but no word of layoffs. I am still living in Huntington Beach, I’ve been there just over a year now. In case you don’t know where it is, it’s about 45 minutes south of Los Angeles and very close to Disneyland so if you are in the area for a vacation give me a call. {smile}
Last year I took a couple of trips up to Vancouver to visit Curt, Jerri and Tyler. The most exciting trip was in September for my brother and Jerri’s wedding. It was a beautiful day all the way around. They had an outdoor wedding and the weather couldn’t have been better. Of course, Jerri was a gorgeous bride and my brother looked very handsome as well. I am so happy for them! I am actually headed up to Vancouver again in a couple of weeks for a short visit, my Mom is also going to be there. It will be great to be together in Curt and Jerri’s new house which they bought recently. Congrats again to them! Most importantly I can’t wait to see my little nephew.
Other travels… I was lucky to finally be able to travel for Oakley last year. In August, I took a trip to our office in Zurich and stayed for a couple of weeks. Luckily, most everyone speaks English in Switzerland so I was able to get around okay. I am probably going back soon to do some more training.
I also went to Atlanta over New Year’s to visit Jason’s family. They are absolutely a wonderful (and big) family. Jason has 6 brothers and sisters! They have the southern charm thing down, they treat me like a princess!
So I guess that’s my update, I can’t wait to read all of your letters. I miss you all so much and am so very thankful to have such a wonderful and close family. And a big thanks to Mary Lynn for putting together this year’s newsletter!
