Florence's Clan 2017

Florence & Larry
hi family.. wow time flies.  thanks Barry and Alisa..so nice that you  are the chosen ones..We are doing fine
Old age is fabulous and that's  a lie
Larry is recovering well from his brain bleed. He loves his treadmill..I love physical therapy.  another couple little  fibs.  We are grateful we are as good as we are.
We get Parker every   couple a months while Lacee goes out of town for her  work. So good to have him. He's  such a great kid and fun to have around..His grades are all  great. He has a solo in his band concert  this month. MEAN CLARINET...  We are happy to have Vance  and Parker  close by.  Also Camille  Lance and Damien  all Gerald and Tena and  their  expanding family.  I  hear Maddie has a ring you can see from space..yay!!!  Mary Lynn   and Barry are close.  We should  see them more.   Everyone  gets so wrapped up just getting stuff done.
It seems so strange  to realize that we have no home to go to in Star Valley..Marisela and Neva ...YOU GUYS  HAVE TO STAY IN ETNA FOREVER..OR TIL THE ROAD SITUATION.  ACTUALLY HAPPENS.. WE MISS SHARON AND NADEAN..I guess  life goes on.  Hope we get to go to the reunion  this year..
hope everyone  is well and happy..the longer we live the more I see that we all have bumps  in the road.  I  guess we just keep on going.  Larry misses Bob and his fishing trips but what can you do.

Love to you all.Hoping so much to see you all soon.
Flo and Larry   Vance and Parker.

We still tell his stories  but will never be able to  do  the Indian  chant.. Johnny and Robert  will always be in our heart.
Thanks so much  to all who came to our reunion

thanks for last year's  newsletter. Oh dear Curt I  forgot to mention  my memories
I  have to say the karaoke  on the 20 acres when some one tried to kick us off our own  land for making to much noise.. I  think Robert and Ryan spent all day finding  that karaoke  machine.
thanks Kim  and Mandy for this newsletter.
can't  wait  for next year ..Ken's  family,,   good call on location.
LOVE YOU ALL.

Florence & Larry 2015

Hi Family,

Many thanks to Curt for doing the fun job of the newsletter.  Also Jan, John and all your family for the reunion in Billings.  It was great.  You guys went to a lot of work.  It really was great.

We are settled in Pocatello.  Hard to leave Wyo, but it's only 2 hours from our bedroom to Sharon and Bob or Mariselas.. so....

The reunion is ours so here is the plan.

Place:  Poky Ross Park.  Ask anybody who you think may know where it is (family members are numerous in this area).

Date: July 22 and 23

FRI:  We hope you can come and find a place to stay.  We have lots of family in this area.  Also hotels..  Hope you visit and all the family can come. No formal plans on Friday.

SAT:  Ross park. Pleasure land.  Lunch from 12 noon til 5 p.m. if we want.  This area has a playground next to the shelter where we'll eat.  Walking distance to zoo, pool with big waterslide, skate boarding park.  Prices for pool and zoo are not expensive.

We still have some floor space and a sofa. We can stay in our area til 5 if we want. Hope to see many Humpherys.

Love Flo, Larry, Vance and Parker

Florence and Larry
Hi Humpherys
We have had a lot to do this year. We sold all our furniture our going out of business sale was great Larry did a great job of selling everything in about two weeks. We had Sharon and Bob to help and another couple of kids and it went fast. Larry redid all the wood floors in the store part so it looks good. We just settled in to the apartment side and then said how what. We had some interested people look at the building and lot but nothing exciting kinda scary to think we would have no home in Star valley,I guess I forgot to say we sold our Etna house too Things change we spent three months in Pocatello and now were back in Star valley snow. Its going fast thou. We all have had a mild winter! No interest in the ross place we may have to spray the weeds again. Will let you know! We have a family dollar store in Thayne rumor has it that the old creamery will be torn down and a new data center is going in . With the temple moving forward perhaps Star Valley will start to progress . Vance is still in his home in American Falls and doing well.  Parker is doing great! We are going back to poctello soon and spend some time there. Geralds new calling is so special he will be a great bishop His meeting was touching we are proud of him and his whole family.Josh thanks again for your news letter and Melanie for this year. We plan to go to Billings can’t wait to see you all there. So many little ones we haven't ever seen we are the only ones with no technology just texting. Parker says we are medieval hes right ! A word from Larry were looking forward to a summer of doing what we want to do! In my case more honey dos and possible more fishing ! I need to teach Bob how to fish!

All our love to all Florence & Larry

Florence & Larry 2013

Hi family ! The parkers have some changes, We now have our house for sale, We moved back to our apartment at star valley furniture  It was hard to down size a lot.
Larry had the hard time, he moved everything. Wow Sharon and Bob helped with 3 yard sales, thanks to them.  I had a hip replaced and then a fall which put me out of commission just in time to get out of most of the work. Larry deserves the husband of the year award. He took care of me with no complaints. Thanks to all of you for your visits, calls flowers.
Melanie dyed my hair, Camille came from Provo while I was in Salt Lake.  What a great family we have. Josh, you are a sweetheart! Thanks for the newsletter. Tena, thanks for a great reunion. And the help from all your family. It was the best! Looking forward to Bear Lake, I am always in owe when I see all of you who travel so far ---every single year.
We still go to our home in Pocatello and spend time with Vance and Parker.  Its always fun! Lots of us old folks have had a rough year, so look what you youngsters have to look forward to--

This is Larry-----I think Flo---  laid my praises on a little bit thick, I am still blushing, She is the main trooper in this family and is responsible for keeping love for you all and keeping me in line I am blessed. Its great we have Parker, to keep us young. As I write this the snow is starting to melt hopefully Bob and I can get some fishing in this summer! My best to you all -----Larry

Florence & Larry 2012

Dear family,
Telling you all of the things, our family has done..may be too exciting for everyone.  We really have just been getting from one day, to the next. Nothing very newsworthy. We all know the worst part of this year, was losing Robert. I miss him so much. He called most mornings, with a trivia question he had gotten off the Internet . I really didn't know Robert was so smart. He knew lots of trivia, but also tons of important daily information that we need, to make it through life..I think.
Robert was the worlds best negotiator. He knew how to get everything done. We all got in on that.(whether we wanted to, or not) Just part of his charm!! Everyone has a special memory of Robert . Maybe we can remember to share with one another, at the next reunion.
Thanks to Ryan , for trying to get us to an "acceptable" level. I was happy to know you actually thought we could get there.
I remember thinking in collage , how awful it would be ,if one of my siblings was to pass away. I wondered who would be the first to go. Boy, now two are gone already. Hard to believe, life is flying...
Larry and I went to Montana, to see his brother last summer. First time, in a long time, we went anywhere other than Pocatello. Sad,really... Parker spent quite a bit of time with us, this summer. He is fun to be with, always

From Larry: Hi,to everyone! This year went too fast. The high lights of the past year(like Florence said) was the time we spent with Parker & Vance. Although the time seemed way too short..The store in Thayne is still plugging along after 27 years. That figure may be off, due to old age. Love to everyone!
Love Florence and Larry

Florence & Larry/ Vance & Parker 2011

Dear family,
This past year found us with much of the same.  The furniture store is still on the market, but not much action. Larry continues to make things work. Larry and Bob get out on Palisades as often as they can sneak off. Sometimes, they even catch an occasional fish.

We were disappointed to miss the reunion in Nevada City. We hear Newell & Sally did a great job!
Shawn & Hilary, thanks so much for doing the newsletter this year.
We get to Pocatello a couple times a month, to get our "Parker fix", which is really our highlight.
Vance is home with us, and believe it, or not, we enjoy having him around. He helps mom at home, & dad at the store. Having said that, Vance might have a different story.
Parker is in 1st grade. He is the smartest, & also the most disruptive, in class.(History repeats itself)
We love you all, so very much! We can't wait to see what  Gerald has in store this year. See you all soon.

Love,
Parkers & Madsens

Florence & Larry 2010

DEAR FAMILY

THIS YEAR HAS EVAN GONE FASTER THAN LAST. FIRST, THE REUNION UP IN THE WILDS OF WY IS STILL MUCH ON MY MIND. IT WAS GREAT. SO MANY MEMORIES. THANKS TO NADEAN AND HER FAMILY. THERE WAS A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER HELPING HANDS THO. AH... LOTS OF CAMPFIRE MEMORIES, HORSES, FOUR WHEELERS FISHES...PEOPLE LOST, PEOPLE CHASING CHILDREN. PEOPLE WALKING DOGS AND THEN BREAKING UP THEIR DOG FIGHTS. SO MUCH GREAT FOOD AND FUN ACTIVITIES. THANKS TO ALL WHO CAME ALL LONG WAYS TO SLEEP ON THE GROUND AND WONDER IF THE BEARS WERE OUT THERE, HUNGRY, SMELLING THE AROMA OF MANY JUICY HUMPHERYS...SO MANY TASTY CHILDREN. OH... I GOT SIDE TRACKED THERE FOR A MINUTE.

OUR PAST YEAR HAS BEEN PRETTY UNEVENTFUL I GUESS THAT IS A GOOD THING. LARRY SAYS THAT HIS BIG MOMENT WAS HAVING BOB NET HIS 19 LB BROWN AFTER HE CAUGHT IT. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

WE GET TO SEE MARISELA AND NEVA, SHARON AND BOB AND OF COURSE ROBERT WHEN HE IS IN RESIDENCE. BE GLAD WHEN NADEAN COMES HOME.

CONGRATS TO THOSE WHO HAVE NEW BABIES, NEW SPOUSES, NEW MISSIONARIES AND OTHER BIG EVENTS...

I REALIZE I HAVE NOT GIVEN MUCH NEWS ON US..MAY HUMBLY SUGGEST THAT YOU DIG OUT LAST YEARS NEWSLETTER IF YOU FEEL THE BURNING NEED TO CATCH UP ON THE PARKERS.

WE THANK YOU LAURIE AND CJ AND BY THAT I PROBABLY MEAN LAURIE FOR DOING THIS NEWSLETTER... ALSO NEWELL I THINK CA. SOUND GREAT FOR THE REUNION. HOPE WE CAN MAKE IT.

MUCH LOVE
FLO AND LARRY

Vance 2010

Dear family,
I hope all of you are doing well. Me and the boy are awesome. I don't have much to report, other than I've been partying , with Charlie Sheen.
I am still doing scouts, it takes up a bunch a time. Me and Parker have been trying to master the art of the bicycle . Not going so hot. We will get it.
I hope we can go to Cali., to see Newell... I mean, go to the reunion. Love ya, and miss ya!

Florence & Larry 2009

Dear Family,

Thanks Nicole and Shane for doing the newsletter this year. Thanks also to Sharon and Bob’s family for the reunion at the Springs In Afton. That was so much fun and finally we got to see a famous thing right in Wyo. I find it so good that so many of you guys travel so far for our family reunions. How pleased Dean and Neva must be.
Our family has been happy and well this year. The beginning of 2009 was quiet for us. We spend as much time we can in Poky so we can see Vance and Parker.
Star Valley Furniture still continues on and on and on I know that should be a good thing and it is but surely a relative needs to buy a furniture store in the middle of beautiful Star Valley.. Such a money maker too !!!!!! Larry’s fishing stories in include a fun trip with Bob, Ray B., Jim B. to Holter Lake in Montana. They of course knocked em dead as they say... If anyone says Larry got skunked just don’t believe a word of it Sharon and Bob spent Easter with us in Poky. Bob learned the fine art of coloring eggs from Parker.
The highlight of 2009 for us was going to Oceanside for Jason and Chelsea’s wedding/ What a beautiful event it was !!!!! Everything was planned and executed so well. Chelsea did most of the festivities herself. She does have a wonderful Mom and some good friends who helped. The beach, the flowers, the reception, the music, the HUNKO groom, the food. It was all amazing. The first song at the reception was Johnny’s tape of “GEORGIA ‘ That brought some tears. I felt Johnny more than once that day. Curt did an excellent job of giving the bride away. I am sure Johnny is proud of them all. One big miracle of that wedding is that we >hillbillies that we are.> got to California and back with not too much trouble. We were lucky to have Gerald and Tena Ross, Shawn,Hillary and kids and Vance for Thanksgiving in Pokey. I say luckey Tena wanted to go to Chuck a rama and so did I but what’s done is done. Maybe next year.
Vance and Parker came to Wyo. For xmas .If you end up with two houses remember that if you put two trees up they eventually have to come down. We did have a great Christmas , hope you all did too.

Love to all........Can’t wait for July

Greetings all,
This is a great opportunity , to give a shout-out to Noodles.(thats Uncle Newel, to you rookies)
Parkers mom has moved back to American Falls, from Pocatello. That means Parker will be going to kindergarten, here in town. I cant believe he is going to be getting on a school bus. i am so sad... Who am i kidding, thats free daycare, baby!! Whoo;Hew. Yes!
I spent most of the winter on my snowmobile. The last ride of the season, was horrible, Shawn knows which time, i am speaking of. i almost borrowed on of his sleds, for one of my boys. Anyway, i ended up losing my i-phone, jacking up my knew & the clutch in the Arctic Cat. went to the happy hunting ground. I am so glad this season is over. We had a crappy snow season, anyway. Bob and Larry are going to play hell, launching the boat this year.

I cant wait to see all of you! I love you, and miss you...

hello all,

i am so excited for this years reunion. parker and i cant wait to see noodles (newel). vance has been busy rockin the slopes on his new sled. parker got a new one also, he is not as excited about it, as his dad. but, such is life. it has been a great winter. no complaints.

as you have heard, flo and larry got a town house in pokey. the boy and i have pretty much commandeered it.(thanks mom) we tidy up a bit when flo and larry tell us they are coming down to visit. it is so nice having them closer. parker really loves grandma and grandpa. they spoil him rotten!! "spare the rod, spoil the child" is what grandpa dean told me. you kids can relate, im sure.

i sure wish i could ramble on aimlessly like linda, or others(you know who you are). but i should get back to work. i cant wait to see everyone in afton this year. i hear sharon is spiking the punch.(ha,ha)

me and parker love you all more than you will ever know.
regards, vance and parker

Florence and Larry 2008

Dear Family,

This year has been pretty crazy. First we purchased a twin home in Pocatello -- right by the mall, yeh! We thought we could spend more time with Parker and Vance and get out of the cold and snow sometimes. Ha! It has been just as cold and snowy down there as it has been here. We have seen more of the family tho. We had fun hauling half of Larry's inventory down to Poky to furnish the place.

After that, the economy went south and so we have two houses and a store that won't sell. Oh well. We are worried along with half the country. Hope we soon see some light at the end of the tunnel.

In September I was pulling that beautiful crab grass, tripped over a hose, fell on my face in the rock garden, and broke some stuff in this old brittle body. After many tests, X-Rays, and more tests, I basically found out I have bad bones and a real bad pelvic region. Anyways, I was using a walker for a couple of months. I am now walking (sorta) and am so thankful for Larry who had to do everything and I mean everything. He's such a good man. Vance helped when he could too. Sharon and Bob were so helpful. Sharon came down for many days and babied me. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. That is probably why I'm walking again.

Larry and Bob have not been doing much fishing. Ice fishing season is here though so maybe we will get some fish to eat. Maybe Ray B. will have to come down and teach these two how to fish. That's what Larry gets for not writing the newsletter -- OOPS -- how quickly I forget the good man I just told you about.

I wish I could tell you about some exotic place we have been to but there it is!! We will just have to hear about all the places the rest of you have been -- China, Australia, Japan, London, Ireland, Curt's Wedding, Alaska, Cancun, Texas, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and here is a true one -- Switzerland -- huh? Chelsea! Some of these were made up of course -- you choose --.

Thank you Mary Lynn for doing this Newsletter. Thanks to Ken's family for the great time at Heise last year.

Can't wait to see you all at Afton this June.

Love you all,

Flo & Larry
