22 YEARS OF THE HUMPHERYS
HERALD FAMILY NEWS...

Nadean 2010

Dear Family,

It seems last year started with the reunion. I just planned and replanned and then tried to remember what I had planned. Old age, I guess, but I’m still kicking and driving back and forth to St. George, also, keeping pretty active here. I appreciated the help from all my family for the reunion. Kids and grand kids are WONDERFUL. It was certainly a family effort, with Jim at the helm. Also, my siblings were very helpful and thoughtful. When I was scrubbing potatoes and making salads I would find my brothers at my side. All in all, it was a joint effort. We couldn't have done it without everyone contributing with horses, 4 wheelers etc. The food was good due to the fact that all of you followed through with your food assignments so EFFICIENTLY. Newell followed through at the expense of losing the tip of his finger. He says it’s okay now.
We parked by Shawn and Hillary. Shawn was so good to help with the trailer that I rented and knew nothing about. I got to know Shawn’s whole family so much better, even after I had played and talked with all of them when I was down at Gerald and Tena’s this spring. Tena, I can’t tell you how thankful I am, and of course the whole family is, that you are doing so well. You are undoubtedly a survivor.
I’m very grateful for the fun but yet, SAFE time we all had but most of all for the memories I made with so many of you. Chelsea, it was so cool that we got to meet Jason at a reunion where we had the time to get to know him. Thanks, for bringing your other friends. Their music brought back memories of other special times. Kim, it was fun to meet your husband and new little one. OH, many new ones were on the scene. Sherri and Eric, we won’t tell about our memories but we will remember them.
The Heart playing tradition that started at the reunion and that Ray missed out on has continued with Jase and Logan and other members of the Salt Lake family. With Logan on his mission now, Ray and Jase are still trying to keep it alive. After Jase leaves on March 23, I wonder what Ray will do next.
I spent three weeks in Salt Lake at Christmas time. I arrived on the 18th of Dec. and Logan’s farewell was the next day. What an inspirational talk he gave. It was on the Savior, keeping with the Christmas theme as it was his wards Christmas program. I stayed until we took him to the MTC on the 5th of Jan. That was a day to remember. I’m so grateful Logan wanted me to stay until he left.
We had such a good time while I was there, going out to eat, Jazz game, the Joseph Smith Story after eating on the Roof Restaurant. Movies in the Cassell Theatre and out to see True Grit. We played games about every night, of course hearts and then Rummy Cube, Stratagory and another fun one on New Year’s Eve. Logan and I went to the Salt Lake Temple and then Stacy, Ray, Logan and I went to the Jordan River. Stacy was mistaken twice that day for a youngster. She and Logan were the witness couple. Back to Christmas; it was a treat to go Christmas shopping with both my granddaughters. They were so helpful and kind to me and I loved watching them shop. I had a wonderful Christmas Eve Dinner with the Lancaster’s and Christmas morning with both families, Jim’s at eight and Carol’s at ten. After presents, Blair fixed his famous scones with all the other breakfast fixings. What a nice day that was.
I have enjoyed watching the Jazz this winter. Well, that is until January arrived then as you all know it has been a different story. I wonder if they’ll ever get back to where they were at their peak. I went to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Concert on February 5th. They sang patriotic, popular, musicals, classicals as well as Negro spiritual songs. It was a very fine production. I enjoyed it immensely.
At this writing, I’m hoping to see Shane and Nicole today, Gail, Kent and Liz Humpherys at the temple tomorrow. DeAna and I are trying to round up a date to have dinner together with her family in Cedar City.
I guess this is all the news for now, I hope to see as many of you that can make it, at the reunion in California this summer. LET’S ALL (that are able) SUPPORT NEWELL AND FAMILY LIKE THEY HAVE US ALL THESE MANY YEARS.)

Lots of Love,
Nadean

Well I guess it’s that time of the year again, I always look forward to catching up with the family and seeing how everyone is doing and what is new is everyone’s life. It’s been a busy year for us all in my house.

Blair - Has been busy working as usual and is really enjoying working close with coaches and athletic departments from high schools and universities all over the state, he has been to the east and the west coast and a couple places in between for trade shows. When not busy with work he’s spending time checking things off his honey-do list and spending time with the family

Carol – Is still working at the hospital brightening the day of everyone she meets, and making it a better place to come to. She is constantly making new plans and redesigning the house one of her favorite past times, when she isn’t chatting away with friends or family.

Jase – Has been busy preparing for his mission he is going to the Albuquerque, NM mission and couldn’t be more happy, he is an inspiration to everyone in his life and makes us so proud.

Me (Josh) – For those of you who don’t know I have been writing these since I was probably 12, haha. Well I am super busy with work, putting in 50-55 hours each week but it’s paying off I just received a promotion and am working my up with a quickly growing collection agency in Salt Lake.

Well I hope that everyone is doing great and can’t wait to read about the changes is everyone’s lives. Hope to see you all very soon!!

Love,
The Lancaster’s

Kim 2010

Hello to all,
Happy 2011! I am happy to be on to a new year. How about you? As I write this I’m looking out my office window at snow, snow, and more snow. But the days are getting longer and I am anxious for spring.
It seems as though the economy is improving in South Dakota, because it has been a better year for me in sales. We did have the Olympics this year and that is always a very big event. I’m grateful that I’m still gainfully employed!
I’ll let Mandy and Chris write about their trip to Mexico, but I will share with you about a wonderful trip Mandy and I made out to the Black Hills with the horses. We went over Labor Day weekend and took along another girl friend of mine. The three of us had 2 full days of riding in the beautiful Black Hills. We stayed at a horse camp right on the edge of Custer National Forest. I rode my new mare and she did very well. Mandy rode Harley my tried and true gelding who is worth more than gold. If I didn’t know better I’d think he came out of Babe. He’s got that kind of temperament and is very smart and willing. I’m wondering how many of you young uns remember Babe. She was Grandpa’s very famous kid’s horse who foaled many more famous kids’ horses. She taught me how to ride and I’m sure many more of you as well. How about Goldie?? Dang I’m feeling old just writing this. I’m sure I’m probably one of the few grandkids who remember Goldie because I can barely remember him myself. (and I do hold the honor of being the oldest grandchild) I remember the morning he died. I was at Grandma and Grandpa’s and it was a very sad day. I know Newell and I were crying…probably some of the other unks too if they are honest!
I did sell two horses this year, which for me was quite a big deal. I’m much better at buying than selling, but it finally occurred to me that I can only ride so many horses. I’m down to 3 and 2 of them will be with me for the duration. I am going to breed my mare this spring for sure to a stallion that goes back to Sugar Bars several times. He’s the youngest standing grandson of Sugar Bars in the country. Don’t need another horse, just want to raise another one from scratch before I get too old.
I’m planning on a trip to Wyoming sometime this summer. I am hoping over the 4th of July because I get an extra day off for the 4th.
So I’m anxious to read each of your letters. I honestly can’t think of much else to say. I’ve got so much to be thankful for AND I AM. Mandy and Chris are a blessing to me. I’ll let them share their own news….suffice it to say that I am very proud of both of them. I won’t be able to make it to the shin dig in California, but hopefully I will see some of ya over the 4th.
Love to you all! Kim

This is a trail ride to the Black Hills Mandy and I took over Labor Day.

This is my loyal companion Libby.

Beautiful South Dakota sunrise! Come visit!

Greetings Wonderful Family,
Can’t believe it is newsletter time again, and I am getting mine in late as usual. Sorry about that…must not be too late though because I haven’t received a call from Uncle Newell yet!:)

Well this past year really flew by just as always. Our biggest highlight was going to Los Cabos, Mexico for our 5th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe we have been married for five years! We went with Chris’s family and had an AMAZING time! We were able to parasail, ride horses on the beach, kayak, snorkel, ride a zip-line, go on a sunset cruise, and barter with the locals! I can tell you those were some once in a lifetime experiences!
This fall, I went to the Black Hills to go trail riding with my mom and a friend of ours. We had a very enjoyable time riding horses on the trails, shopping in the tourist towns, and just hanging out with the girls!

Chris will be starting his 4th year at Trail King. He enjoys his job but would really just love to farm and raise cattle. Luckily he is able to “get his fix” by farming his grandma’s land with his dad on the side. He also helps our neighbor feed cows when he is out of town.

I am in my third year of teaching Kindergarten. I have 19 students this year that keep me extremely busy! Luckily, I was able to get a full time aide half way through the year. She has helped out a great deal! I am very thankful for my job and love what I do, but I LOVE my summers off!

Well, we still have three spoiled dogs, two happy horses, and one shed filled with a ton of cats! If you are ever in the area, make sure you call and stop by! Hope this letter finds everyone happy and healthy, and may God bless you all in this new year ahead!

Love,
Chris and Mandy Williams

Pam & Ray 2010

Dear Family,
Thank you for all you have done for us this year. The family reunion last year at Greys River was awesome. It was so good to see everybody, and I enjoyed time with every one. I did get a flat tire, but thanks to Uncle Gerald, and Jimmy, and Uncle Larry, we got it fixed and back on the road. It was a beautiful drive every day. I enjoyed seeing everyone.
I don’t think we will be able to make it to the reunion in California this year, but every year I look forward to seeing everyone.
Ray and I are working away every day. I appreciate my Uncle Newell with helping me to get this newsletter off. And I appreciate CJ and Laurie’s effort in putting the newsletter together this year, because I remember how it used to be the year I did it, which was quite a few years ago. I was one of the first ones.
When Pam gets a new computer, she will do the newsletter again. I will keep you updated. We still have two steers, Toby and Spanish, the three horses, CJ, Mooner, and Judd, and our two dogs, Cally, and Mya.
Ray works at the airport as a mechanic and he has plowed a lot of snow this year, so he has got lots of overtime and lots of long hours.
I work at Quality Supply. I have been there for nineteen years. I will retire there. I am in charge of inventory cycles and I am also the lead cashier. It is a locally owned store, with a wonderful family to work for. But as soon as we move to Star Valley, some day, I will be working again.
I love you all.
Pam and Ray

Kenny & Myrna 2010

Dear Family,

I received the phone call from Newell last night as I'm sure many more of you did. It is time to get our news letters in.
I'm not sure what I'm going to write this year. Maybe just a few line of gratitude to you all for the good things we have in life.

It is 5:30 am as I sit here writing this letter and listening to the sounds outside: the roosters crowing and the minny donkeys braying. It gives me a very thankful feeling for the things we have around us. I have learned a lot from animals in my life time like the sounds they make when you are coming to feed them. It is very satisfying as we do our petting zoos and see the expressions on the faces of kids and adults alike as they interact with the animals.

We learn from all the bridal parties as we participate in the weddings with our horse and carriage business. This has been very good to us. We will have participated in over 50 weddings in 2011 and countless wagon rides with our wagons at fall festivals, Christmas corralling and a few parades. We have added a covered wagon to our arsenal and do historic tours around Florence. I need to tell you about this wagon. I have installed a sound system stereo no less to play while we go around and look at all the old historic buildings. I have a CD that gives the history of each of them. If I'm not doing a tour, I listen to my favorite country artists with Uncle Johnny being at the top of the list.

We want you all to know how much fun we had last summer at the reunion. How grateful we are to each of you for your love and friendship. To be up Greys River where so many good memories have been made with all the family hunting and camping trips brings back many good memories that I will always cherish.

The time that was spent with our grandkids was very rewarding. We enjoyed watching and helping each of them grow in their cowboy and cowgirl skills. It was a lot of fun. They went from very cautious, slow rides as the summer started to having races as the summer came to a close. These were the things that warmed our hearts to see the confidence that they all had. That is how I grew up riding horses doing everything on a horse, like going after the cows up in the big pasture early in the morning, irrigating, hunting, riding to school on the last day of the school with my friends, then going down to salt river and playing tag and hide and seek in the willows. I know I am rambling , but these are some of the good memories that I have of horses and growing up. Horses have always meant a lot to me and still do. The last few years they have helped supplement our income so it has made my hobby less painful.

We are very thankful to all of our children and grandchildren and great-grand child. We will have two greats by the time you read this. You all mean a lot to us as we grow older and see that we all have some kind of issues as we go through life and hopefully learn from them and improve our lives. That is all we can expect.

We are also thankful for all of our brothers and sisters and your children as the family grows and we get spread out more even though it becomes more difficult to get to know you. Our door is always open and hope that if you get in our neck of the woods that you will stop and stay a few days. We feel it has been a special blessing when Nathan stops and stays when he is working in our area. Since Mom's 90th birthday party, Ray and Becky, Robert and Marcela, Gerald and Tina, Bob and Sharon, and Larry and Florence have all come to see us. It has been such a treat also when Kelly, Sandra, Barry and Alisa, DeAna and Sherrie and all their families have made the effort to spend time on our "wanta be ranch".

We want to say how thankful we are for the values we were taught by our parents. These are the lasting impressions that should mean a lot to each of us. I am also grateful for my grandparents. I think about Grandpa Humpherys and Grandpa Clark with fondness because I lived with both of them at different time during my college days at Logan.

But the person I am most thankful for is My Dear wife, Myrna. She is so much fun, so supportive, such a good cook and my waist line proves it. Our son, Aaron, is getting married on Friday, March 4th. We are thankful for him and Lisa to be able to go through the Temple with them.

No one knows what the future holds for any of us. The world is getting hectic to say the least. We feel that we may not be able to enjoy the freedoms that we have all had during our life time. We just hope and pray that we can all stay on the side of right and stave off the ills of what the Politicians are trying to impose on us which is not good for the freedoms that we all hold dear.

Love you all until next year, Ken and Myrna

Kelly & Sandra 2010

To all the fam’,

I am amazed that it takes Uncle Newell to travel all the way from California to Las Vegas, “just to see me and tell me I need to write the news letter”. I’m sure that the rest of you are all jealous. So as promised I’m writing this today as dated above and will be emailing it shortly to C.J. (OK Laurie really to you).

At first thought it didn’t really seem like there was much that happened in 2010. But as we reflected on the past year, it really has been an amazing year of many rich blessings. I have to admit I can’t remember in which order these things happened, but they did.

Probably the biggest news to report on is Brooke becoming engaged to the Bart man. You all met him at the reunion. He’s a good man and I for one am glad he speekes e Spanish (no he’s not Spanish). It comes in handy while yard sale-ing. So I’ll leave the details for Brooke as to not steal her thunder. Brooke is working (yes she got a promotion) for the City of Henderson Parks and Rec. department. She’s a dedicated employee... takes after her mom on that point. Brooke has wonderful musical abilities. She plays the Piano, the French Horn, and the Guitar. She loves composing music and I’m sure she will certainly make a difference with her talents. Now she gets to plan her wedding and her future with her future hubby Bart Baby.

Bart is currently working as a EMT, going to school to become a Fireman/Paramedic. We are proud of them for striving to start out on the right foot and it’s a pleasure to get to know him…good guy!

Tan-d-man has worked hard and was awarded his Eagle Scout award along w/ a good friend. I remember when he and Robby (his friend) went to their first scout camp at 11 years old and earned 10 Merritt badges each. They worked their booty off to get them, and continued on until finally earning their Eagle Scout rank 6 years later. Tanner also played volley ball for high school as well as a private club. They went back to Texas for Junior Olympics. Didn’t do as well as they had hoped, but had a good time. Tanner has really turned into a very good volleyball player. Actually he also went on a “Back-East” trip with other youth from the area for about two weeks. Visiting many of the historical sites of the church. He still talks about it and how good of an experience it has been. Tanner is also currently employed by the city of Henderson as a life guard working, when he can, to keep to swimmers safe.

Minh is still living here with us. She is very dedicated to her goals. What a wonderful person and a great friend. She was able to go back to Vietnam to visit her family for a month or so. We call her family.

As some comic relief to be interjected here—I did fix the A/C in the truck after the reunion…and yes it was kind of funny…after it was all-said-and-done.

We have had the privilege of going to Magic Mountain, Skiing/Snowboarding and visiting Barry in 29 Palms, Ca, and attending the family reunion as a family. These times have been priceless.

Dad and I were able to spend a few days together on road trip to Idaho while attending Savannah’s baptism. Then headed over to S.V. and visited with Aunt Flo., and Larry, then spent the night at Bob and Sharron’s. The entertainment from Bob was unsurpassed by any local comedians, and Aunt Sharron’s, dinner was indescribably tasty.

Sandra and I and the McDonald’s, and Pryor’s (good friends of ours) spend a long weekend up at Zions Ponderosa Ranch and Resort. We did things like ATVing, zip line, games, food, and girls all got a spa treatment. A very memorable trip indeed.

The “Humpherys Hotel Vegas” was open for business on a couple of occasions when Michelle and Ben & family came to Vegas, and not too soon after Stephanie and Melanie who were visiting Vegas also spent the night.

Uncle Robert took the time to teach me how to harness the horses and so I’ve helped him on occasion drive a team. I gotta say it was awesome. At first I was scared out of my wits, but after a few times of being left on my own I managed to get through it. The sleigh rides were the best. I must say I appreciate Uncle Robert for all he’s done for me and love him for it.

We were able to attend DeAna and Brian's wedding in Cedar City. He seems like a pretty darn good guy. And now that she lives there hope to get to see them more.

I know that it seems like the newsletter each year may seem to some like a burden. But I have to come to realize the value of it as a family history and its timeless value to our posterity. It helps me appreciate and reflect upon my own family’s’ past year. Honestly I’m not sure I would have realized how blessed we have really been this past year had I not taken the time to write this. So thank you to C.J. and my awesome cousin-n-law Laurie for doing it this year, and for Dad setting me strait on the matter.

We really love ya’ll.

Kelly, Sandra, Brooke, Tanner

Brooke and Bart 2010

Hello family! I have gotten in trouble by uncle Newell because I have not got my letter in yet and I am probably the last one… WHOOPS! Haha anyways… A lot has happened this past year! I got a promotion at my job, wrote some more music, and I got ENGAGED! Most all of you met Bart at the reunion and in December he proposed to me at Disneyland! The best time of my life! Haha we plan to get married on November 11, 2011 and hope you guys can make it but if not that is ok too! Anyways I guess since Bart and I are getting married that means I should write for him too! I will tell you guys a little about him. Bart is 22 and is a twin! He comes from a family where there are 4 sets of twins.. yes count that right I said FOUR sets of twins in his immediate family.. crazy I know! Bart is currently going to school and just finished getting his EMT-I. Now he is taking fire classes at school because he wants to be a firefighter! He is applying everywhere for firefighting jobs so hopefully he can get hired on and go through the fire academy soon! Right now he works at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway as a medic (that’s fun because we get into all the races for free like NASCAR etc!) He also just got a full time job as a EMT/Security officer at the Harrahs Hotel on the strip! I have been submitting my background check into a lot of police departments like LAPD and such because if my music career falls through I want to be a police officer! Well that’s just a little about us I wish I had more to write! I miss you all and hope we can make it to the reunion and see all of you guys! Love you guys!
Always- Brooke and Bart

Well I don't know where last year went. It was here and gone though, I'm sure of that.
Newsletter writer block has set in so I'm just going to write a quick note so I can let Laurie rest and let you all know that we're all still alive and kicking. Mary Lynn has got the Humpherys Herald blog going and so I am going to try to start using that from now on to post to along with facebook to keep updated with family. Hope to see you there.

Love the Olsens

As most of you know, I got married in November. Here’s Brian’s story as he says he can sum up our story in a few minutes.
“Our story begins in 7th grade. She sat in front of me in History class. She was friends with my sister, friends with me, she was nice to me and I liked her, but didn’t have the courage to ask her out until after high school. We went on one date that I remember, but she doesn’t. Her family moved away and we lost touch for 22 years until Facebook. The rest is history.”

Some weird similarities:
Brian’s birthday is the 7th and mine is the 5th of August. Savannah’s b-day is 9-13 Sierra’s is 9-12. Brian’s second son, who passed away, birth date was 4-11. Ian’s is 4-10. I was named Nancy and then my parents changed it, and Brian’s mom’s name is Nancy. I always wanted a red headed child and now I have a red headed (gorgeous) step child. ;) Ian got the brother he has been wanting for years.

We live in Cedar City now and I love it. We see Kent Humpherys (Uncle Hyrum’s son) often as he works part time at the local grocery store.

I remember last spring break as Sherrie, the kids and I were at the St. George temple grounds for lunch, I found myself “wishing” I would hook up with someone from my past. I think Heavenly Father must have granted me my wish. I don’t know how I was so blessed.

I love you all, and can’t wait to see you next.

Mary Lynn & Gary 2010

Dear Family,

This will be short because I honestly have no idea what to say.

We are all doing well. Gary is still farming and loving it. I still teach piano lessons, help in the PTA, and was released from the Relief Society and am now assistant Camp Director. I hope that will be fun.

Emalee is 10 years old and in 4th grade. Her favorite subject is Science. She is taking violin lessons and I am attempting to continue to teach her piano. Teaching my own kids tends to get put to the side because of all the other stuff going on. She loves Activity Days and is growing up too fast. She won’t stop ... even though I tell her to everyday. She also played Jazz ball this last year and loved it but she wasn’t nearly as aggressive as I would have hoped she could have been. This was the first year she wanted to play though so maybe next year she will be more used to it.

Jake just turned 8 and was baptized. We were very happy that Sherrie, Erik, Angie, Kris, Gerald, Tena, Hilary and her kids could come and support him on this day. It really meant a lot. Jake is also taking violin lessons and attempting to take piano from me. He is in the 2nd grade. He also played Jazz ball last year. Shawn was his coach and he got to be on Hadley’s team as well as his sister Megan and their other cousin Grant Evans was on his team. He really enjoyed it this year and even made 4 baskets in one game. Shawn was in Boise that game and Gary and I were in Cedar City so we missed it though ... darn it! Jake is growing up WAY to fast. He won’t stop ... even though I tell him to everyday.

Megan will be 6 by the time this newsletter is read. She is in Kindergarten and absolutely LOVES it. She is already reading and excelling. She has learned a lot from her older sister and brother. She loves learning piano from me and wants to take violin like Emalee and Jake. Their teacher still teaches her some things and she comes home and practices even though she isn’t officially in lessons. She loved playing Jazz basketball this last year but did get discouraged because she was the shortest on the team (being in Kindergarten & everyone else in 1st and 2nd grade). She couldn’t quite make the baskets but she did really well in everything else. Shawn is an awesome coach and makes all the kids feel important and special. Megan is growing up too fast. She won’t stop ... even though I tell her to everyday.

Landon is 2 1/2 and a stinker! He gets extremely bored at home with me and his brother and sisters are at school. He can’t stand nursery because he isn’t used to being with anyone but his family. I’m hoping he grows out of it ... but not too fast! I keep telling him to stop growing up everyday!

Hope all is well for you all!

~ Gary, Mary Lynn, Emalee, Jake, Megan, & Landon

DEAR FAMILY

THIS YEAR HAS EVAN GONE FASTER THAN LAST. FIRST, THE REUNION UP IN THE WILDS OF WY IS STILL MUCH ON MY MIND. IT WAS GREAT. SO MANY MEMORIES. THANKS TO NADEAN AND HER FAMILY. THERE WAS A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER HELPING HANDS THO. AH... LOTS OF CAMPFIRE MEMORIES, HORSES, FOUR WHEELERS FISHES...PEOPLE LOST, PEOPLE CHASING CHILDREN. PEOPLE WALKING DOGS AND THEN BREAKING UP THEIR DOG FIGHTS. SO MUCH GREAT FOOD AND FUN ACTIVITIES. THANKS TO ALL WHO CAME ALL LONG WAYS TO SLEEP ON THE GROUND AND WONDER IF THE BEARS WERE OUT THERE, HUNGRY, SMELLING THE AROMA OF MANY JUICY HUMPHERYS...SO MANY TASTY CHILDREN. OH... I GOT SIDE TRACKED THERE FOR A MINUTE.

OUR PAST YEAR HAS BEEN PRETTY UNEVENTFUL I GUESS THAT IS A GOOD THING. LARRY SAYS THAT HIS BIG MOMENT WAS HAVING BOB NET HIS 19 LB BROWN AFTER HE CAUGHT IT. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

WE GET TO SEE MARISELA AND NEVA, SHARON AND BOB AND OF COURSE ROBERT WHEN HE IS IN RESIDENCE. BE GLAD WHEN NADEAN COMES HOME.

Jan & John 2010

Dear Family,

This last year has been a busy one. I hope you are all doing well.
We sure enjoyed seeing everyone at the reunion. The time certainly went too fast!

I went to see the kids a few times last year. I always enjoy the time we spend together. They always have lots of fun things planned when I go and visit. Chelsea and I went to Vancouver in August for Ella's first birthday. She is so precious! I love spending time with her and Tyler!

John and I went to Hawaii in November and had a wonderful time. We went on a helicopter tour that was absolutely breathtaking! It was so beautiful there. I would love to go back one day.

Curt, Jerri, Tyler, Ella, Chelsea, and Jason all came home for Christmas last year. We had an amazing time!

We are sending lots of love to all of you and hope you have a safe and healthy 2011.

Love you,
Jan and John

Curt & Jerri 2010

Hello Humpherys family
I guess it’s letter writing time again. This will be the first year in a while that I haven’t got the call from Newell to get my letter done. I have a little more free time this year because I was laid off from my job in November. After the initial shock of being let go, I decided to look at this as an opportunity to find a job I am happier with. I am still getting paid through a severance package, but finding work right now is definitely a job in itself. Chelsea has been extremely helpful with this whole job search process. Wish me luck!! It has also been nice to spend more time with my family and see the kids get bigger and smarter every day during my time off. I am sure they would say the same… the kids would at least.
Jerri is still working at Wells Fargo as her position was not terminated, but I think she wishes it had been some times. She has been getting into reading a lot more lately and even started a small book club. She also does a great job keeping the house in order and keeping the kids entertained as best as she can.
Tyler is now 4 and still going to preschool. He likes it there and especially playing (wrestling) other kids probably because he is the biggest kid in this class. It’s nice that he gets to spend some time in a school setting before he actually goes to school. He is getting so smart and says something every day that makes me wonder how he learned that. I tell him he is so smart and tells me he knows he is and that he knows everything. He is starting to show some interest in basketball and other sports. He loves playing with and taking care of his little sister.
Ella is now 18 months old and so cute. She is walking and trying to talk and doing all the things that she should be doing now. She loves playing with her brother and trying to scare us. She goes in the closets around the house and then comes running out saying boooo. It’s pretty funny and she makes us laugh all the time.
We got to take a trip to Billings for Christmas for the first time in a couple of years. I wish we could be there every year for that time of year. My mom and John made sure we all had a great holiday. Chelsea and my mom got to come out here a couple times this year, which we always look forward to. We also got to spend some time with Jerri’s family in southern Oregon for Easter and Thanksgiving this year. There hasn’t been too much more going on that would be worth talking about that I can remember. I hope everyone is doing well and we will see you at the next reunion we can get to.

Love
Curt, Jerri, Tyler, and Ella
