Jim, Stacy, Logan, Katie, and Rilee 2008

Hello Humpherys Family!!!

As usual the year has flown by! Here at the Cassell Household, all is well and we feel very blessed and fortunate! We are so grateful for all that we have… especially to have each other and be part of such a great family!

Logan is a Junior at Jordan High and along with a very heavy load of classes like: Physics, Calculus, and AP History, he has a full social calendar! He has a good group of friends that he hangs out with. Sometimes Mom and Dad think too much, but what do we know? He also has enjoyed being on the golf team and cross-country and track team. Being a teenager…he has given his parents SOME grief! But all in all he is great kid and we are very proud of him! By the way…where did the time go? Only one more year of High School??? That’s CRAZY!!!

Katie is a Sophomore at Alta High…yes, the rival school of Jordan High, where Logan goes! It actually hasn’t been too bad having them attend different schools. It certainly gives them a large “dating field”!!! And again YES…Katie is 16 and is able to date! What a whole new world her parents have entered! Two teenagers! Two teenagers that date! Two teenagers that drive!!! Need we say more? But, Mom and Dad are very lucky again with Katie! She is a great student and gets terrific grades and also has really good friends! We are very proud of her! Katie also is still very busy with her competition dance company and even got to go to New York City with them (mom got to tag along too!) last June! (That’s where they were the week of the Humpherys Reunion!) It was an amazing experience! She took some dance classes at a famous studio and performed at the Statue of Liberty! Great Memories!

Rilee is a 5th Grader! Wow! We are old aren’t we? She is at a new elementary this year. Mom and Dad were a little concerned the first day, wondering if she would do ok and make some friends… Hang on!!! Wait a minute!!! This is Rilee we are talking about! By the end of the day, she had lots of new friends and it was like she had been going there forever! She has no problem socializing! She got chosen as a class representative and even attended a leadership conference at BYU! She also is a very good student and especially loves to read! This year Rilee is also involved with the same competition dance company that Katie has been a part of. She is definitely a performer! She loves it! She also has recently started taking violin lessons and is getting quite good! We are very proud of her!

Stacy is turning 40 this year, despite trying hard to hang on to 39 forever! She just got back from a Mexican Riviera Cruise with her High School Girlfriends to celebrate the monumental 40th year! She had a lot of fun relaxing and catching up with the girls! She even persuaded a couple of them to go zip-lining over the jungle canopy in Puerto Vallarta with her! It was an awesome adventure! Back to reality!!!! She stays quite busy with the kids and the house and everything… EVERY DAY is an adventure!!! She feels very lucky and blessed!

Jim is Forty-Something and wondering where all the time went! Wasn’t he just barely 21??? Anyway… He has had another great year with his company Lightstream Communications. Even with the economy concerns, their company has done very well. He feels extremely fortunate and blessed! They now have offices in Seattle, Denver and Phoenix. He stays very busy with all this, so fly fishing has taken a reluctant back burner. But, he has gotten to go on a few memorable trips this year! The best one was with Uncle Gerald! Uncle Gerald took Jim and Logan up on horses to the Palisades Lakes. They camped out a few nights and fished on some of the best waters out there! It was an amazing trip and Uncle Gerald was to thank! (We will kindly excuse the one minor incident of the packs falling off one of the horses!! No one was injured!!!)

It has been a great year! Like we have said, we feel very blessed! We look forward to hearing from all of you and especially to seeing you all at the Reunion!

Take Care!
Love Jim, Stacy, Logan, Katie and Rilee
