Hello Humpherys family!
It is that time again! Hope everyone is doing well. We have a fun year in 2008 and look
forward to more in 2009.
We are still working on our basement and hope it will be reported in next yearʼs newsletter
that we are FINISHED! Jim and my Dad have been performing most of the labor
and have made much progress last year.
Lisa has the same nursing job working about 12-16 hours a week (mostly weekends).
Something new is that she has been working more shifts in ICU this year in addition to
her normal floor. Lisa is busy during the week taking the girls to pre-school, swimming
lessons, gymnastics, soccer games, play-groups, church activities, and family events.
She is the primary secretary at church and planning for 120 children in our ward keeps
her busy. Lisa and Jim are both participating in their first triathlon in May this year.
Wish them luck!
Allison is 5 1/2 and is the oldest in her preschool. She has lost three teeth now and
has two permanent teeth coming in. Allison likes to be a big helper at home and tries
her best to be a good sister and friend to Paige. She likes to play her Princess Wii
game and computer games. Allison is still very artistic. Coloring and painting are her
favorite things to do at pre school. We canʼt keep up with all of the projects she brings
home from school! Allison played soccer in the fall and is quite the striker, scoring goals
every game. She is taking swimming lessons and can swim with kids twice her age
across the entire width of the pool. Allison is a daredevil and loves that she can go on
all of the roller coasters at Lagoon.
Paige just turned 2 and is talking more and more. She knows what she wants and
never gives up until she gets it! Among Paigeʼs favorite things to do is to walk around
the house rocking, singing and saying “shhhshhhh” to her baby doll. It is so cute. Two
of her favorite characters are Elmo and Curious George. She is still a climber and gets
into a lot of mischief just like Curious George. Paige will sit on your lap and cuddle and
likes to be near her family. She is in the neighborhoodʼs pre pre school and a mommy
and me gymnastics class so she can get out all of her wiggles. Paige is learning to play
more with Allison and they enjoyed sledding together at Christmas time.
Jim is skiing most Saturdays. He really enjoys taking Allison with him. She got her own
skis for Christmas. Jim is a proud Dad, watching Allisonʼs soccer games and swim
practice. Jim switched engineering companies in September. He was privileged to go
to Florida and watch Space Shuttle Endeavour launch. The night before the launch, Jim
spent most the night on the launch pad, while it was being prepared for launch. That
trip made the job switch worth it! Jim has been called to be the facilities representative
at church and coordinates the snow removal, cleaning, and locking the church.
We also did a little traveling this year. In March we took a family vacation to Disneyland.
We stayed with Jimʼs sister and the girls just loved playing with their cousins, going to
the beach and seeing all of the princesses at Disneyland. We took another vacation to Park City in September. It was still warm enough that we were able to swim outside in the pools and enjoy some family time. Jim went mountain biking and we went shopping.
We also had fun at the Annual Humpherys Reunion. It was fun camping and swimming at the hot springs.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in June at the reunion in Afton!
Love always,
Jim, Lisa, Allison and Paige
