Hello fellow family members!
This year has flown by so quickly. A year ago “Grandpa Ray” helped us drive to Cheyenne in the middle of the winter. I can’t believe that we’ve now lived in Cheyenne for one year. This town is so fun to live in. There’s shopping, restaurants, and plenty of activities going on. It’s big enough but not too big. Our ward is so friendly. Now if the wind would just stop blowing…
Last summer Drew’s sister Whitney stayed with us and worked at Drew’s hotel. We had so much fun with her. We went to Six Flags in Denver with her and thoroughly enjoyed the Frontier Days with all of the celebrations. Drew’s brother and parents also came to visit us for Riley’s first birthday.
In a couple of weeks we will be moving yet again, but just to a different neighborhood. It’s located right behind a brand new elementary school that Brooklyn will be starting at this fall.
Drew worked at the Comfort Inn until last December where he was offered the position as the General Manager at a brand new Microtel Inn and Suites that was just opening in Cheyenne. It’s a beautiful new building. Drew has been very busy interviewing and hiring the entire staff and now that they are open must concentrate most of his time on sales and marketing. He is almost half way through with his Master’s program at Colorado State University and he even managed to find some time to do the dishes last night!
Stephanie has been very busy with Brooklyn and Riley. She is in the primary presidency and last October helped put together the primary program. She gets together often with her friends for playgroups, dinner clubs, and anything that involves food.
Brooklyn still loves preschool. She is quite the social butterfly and is learning how to read. She has quite the imagination and has a wonderful spirit. She is a wonderful sister to Riley. They like to play ring-around-the-rosy and London Bridges. She also loves to do art projects with Stephanie.
Riley is our little monkey who likes to climb. Thank goodness she has great balance. She likes to give her mom a heart attack at least once a day. She is learning new words and loves to watch Dora the Explorer and Curious George. When we are at Wal-mart she starts to neigh like a horse because she likes to ride the mechanical horse. She is a true cowgirl. She loves to wear Brooklyn’s purple snow boots. She is such a joy to be around.
We have visited Utah a few times throughout the year. The Humpherys reunion was so much fun at Heise Hot Springs. We flew to Georgia to visit Drew’s grandparents and then flew back to Utah and had Thanksgiving with Stephanie’s family. We had Christmas in Nyssa, Oregon with Drew’s family. We hope to come to Utah soon to see Michelle and hear about her adventures in China.
We hope everyone is doing well and hope to see you this summer!
