I hope this finds you all doing well! We had a great 2010 and were able to fit in multiple family visits, including a trip to the Humpherys Family Reunion! Here is a recap of the year...
In February, my Mom came out to California to visit Jason and I and help out with some home projects. In particular, she helped me paint our master bedroom, where the previous owners had sponge painted it olive green, blah. Anyhow, we painted it a nice taupe color which looks great, my Mom is very handy and always so willing to help her kids. It was a great mother-daughter bonding experience. Jason and I sure enjoyed having her visit us, and can't wait until she can come again!
In March, my Mom and I went up to Vancouver to visit Curt, Jerri, Tyler, and Ella. We try to visit them every 3-4 months since the kids just grow so fast. This particular trip, I ended up having to bring some work with me (first time) and it put a little damper on the trip. But we made the best of it, we always have a blast up there when we are together. My brother has such a beautiful, loving family.
In July, I took Jason and our friends Jeff and Kim for their first visit to Montana/Wyoming/Idaho. We spent a few days in Montana with my Mom's side of the family, it was so great for me to be able to catch up with them and also to show Jason where I grew up. We then drove down with my Mom and John to Star Valley for the Humpherys Reunion. It was so great to see everyone, and the camping and fishing were reminiscent of the good 'ol days. I hadn't done either in much too long! We left the reunion and headed out for our white water rafting trip down the Snake River. It was a blast (we sat in front), and we all enjoyed the gorgeous scenery. Then we went on to Jackson for the night, then toured Yellowstone for the next few days, and then back to Billings. It was a wonderful trip that we will never forget!
In August, my Mom and I went up to Vancouver to celebrate Ella's first birthday. She was so sweet, we took her to the Olive Garden for her birthday dinner and then had a party for her the following day. She had a Belle birthday cake that was all hers, and boy did she had some fun digging into it! Tyler is such a great brother, he would try to wipe her face off when she got too messy. :) We had some nice family meals and really enjoyed our time there together.
In October, I organized a surprise birthday party for Jason and had his parents come out from Georgia. He didn't know they were coming and he was super surprised and thrilled to see them. We went to Laguna Beach for the weekend and stayed at a beautiful hotel on the beach. Needless to say, it was an awesome time. His family is amazing, I am so blessed to have such wonderful in-laws.
In December, Jason and I went to Montana for Christmas and to Georgia for New Year's. Curt, Jerri, Tyler and Ella were there with us in Montana which made for a very special Christmas. I was thinking it would be one of the coldest winters that Jason had ever seen, since it was his first time to Montana in the winter. But it actually ended up being relatively warm (20's) so maybe next year. One day I'd like to introduce him to "below zero", he has no idea what kind of cold that is. :)
Jason and I are planning to move to Georgia this summer after we sell our house. We hope that we can make it to the family reunion, we'll do our very best to be there! It sounds like so much fun!
I love you all, and can't wait until we can be together again!
