Lisa & Jim 2011

HELLO HUMPHERYS FAMILY!

2011 has been a fun year!

Isaac:
20 months old and full of energy! He loves to play chase and hide from his sisters. Opening and closing doors, playing with his cars, Toy Story, and emptying drawers are some of his favorite activities! Isaac knows what is means to go “bye bye” and will go with whom ever wants to take him for a ride! He loves his binkie and blankie. Isaac loves to give kisses and hugs and loves his daddy! We love all of his black curly hair! He’s getting so big!

Paige:
Just turned 5 and we can’t believe it. We look back in the car and see a new, older girl and wonder where our little one went? She has transformed into a little engineer, with the wheels spinning in her head, always thinking. She participated in her first season of soccer, first year of dance, 2nd year of preschool, and topped it off with swimming lessons. Paige is very attentive at what she does and comes back with the knowledge that she has learned. Her favorite friend that will always be with her, is her stuffed animal monkey, “Ooh ahh”. She is always glued to our sides and likes to help around the house! She loves barbies, make up and princesses.

Allison:
Allison is 8 and in 2nd grade. She is a friend to all and enjoys school! Her favorite thing was her first play last summer. She was a sea creature in Pirates of the Carribean. (a spoof from the original movie). She loves to act, draw, sing and has started piano lessons. She had a fun basketball and soccer season along with swim team prep classes. She finished her 2nd triathlon and took 1st place! Allison was baptized in October and what a special time that was for her. She is a natural leader and loves to entertain. She made her own New Year’s Resolutions and they were to “stay on task” with homework and piano, to do art every day and to be nice to her sister!

Lisa:

Has been involved in directing stake/church sports this past year including volleyball, fitness groups and soon to be basketball. She plays the piano in relief society which she loves to do. She completed 4 races (triathlons and 5ks) this year. Lisa still works on average of one 12 hour night shift a week at the hospital on IMC/ICU. She keeps up with the carpooling, kids activities, exercising, and home life.

Jim:

Has been working with the Young Men in the church. He completed 3 triathlons and two, 1/2 Ironman’s this year and has signed up for his 1st ironman next year. Hasn’t had to travel as much this year with work, and has been able to be home more to watch all the kids sports and activities.

2011 we took the kids to the Zoo, circus, Lagoon, and were able to take a few family vacations. The first one was to Boise for Jim’s 1/2 ironman where he did a great job and improved his time! We went to Southern California for Jim’s grandmother’s funeral, and were able to go to Disneyland while we were there. The trip to Northern California for the Humpherys reunion was fabulous! We had so much fun canoeing, boating, swimming, playing basketball and spending time with the family. Camille took Lisa on an amazing bike ride up and down the hills of Grass Valley. Camille, Sally, Lisa and Michelle had a nice run along the beautiful river! What a picturesque place they live! Thanks for your great hospitality to Newell’s family! Lisa was able to take the 4th year young women on a backpacking trip for 2 days. Thanks to dad for sharing the love of backpacking through all these years. In July, Jim, Allison and Lisa all participated in our city’s triathlon where Jim and Allison both took first in their age groups! We also had our last family vacation to Las Vegas. We took the girls to see Lion King on Broadway. What a spectacular show! Paige lasted all the way to the last scene, where she was so tired from all the walking we did, and the lateness of the show she fell asleep!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next reunion! Thanks to Hilary and Shawn for doing the newsletter this year!

Love,
Jim, Lisa, Allison, Paige, and Isaac (girlsfamily.blogspot.com)
