Dear Family,
Ray
still didn’t want to write the newsletter so I’ll do it again and TRY to stay
brief!
I
reviewed our old 2011 calendar. We babysat the grandchildren a few times, went
to work, did genealogy, got some exercise, attended the temple, did our church
callings, went camping, got grass, trees, garden and flowers to grow and
enjoyed family parties and holidays. Not
too many health problems, feel blessed! That was the year in a nutshell so only
read on if you want details! Ha!
The grands are getting cuter all the time and
growing up fast. We feel blessed to say we now have 10, the two oldest turning
8 last Fall. What a wild, noisy, but fun bunch they can be! They are such
unique individuals, too.
Ray is
still the P.E. teacher and special tutor at Eaglecrest Elementary and going
strong. He has gone skiing twice with the kids (besides playing b-ball with the
YM) as he starts his sixth decade! Go Ray!
I’ve had fun finding more relatives to add to
the family trees (and yes, many are on the Humpherys side, so if you want to
know who they are let me know). I kept up the swimming until Dec when the
bubble over the outdoor pool blew up from a quick wind storm. I will soon be
working at the new U of U Daybreak area clinic.
We both were released from our two
plus year church callings at the retirement center branch. Ray still spends
Thursday evenings at the temple. He was called to work with the Young Men, me
to be the Primary secretary. We
still look at the obits to see which resident has passed and then remember
their sweet personalities. It has been different going back to our old ward:
the meetings are longer than what we were used to and we aren’t helping people
with walkers! Most everybody is middle aged like us and we see where we are
headed. Eeek!
We
enjoyed our 2nd annual family reunion in April, Michelle and Ben
hosting. Everyone but Drew could come so we had 19. The games and basketball were
great. We had a fun time at Newell and Sally’s in California for the annual
Humpherys reunion in July, too. Keep up
the reunions to keep the family close!
We enjoyed about 6 camping trips
with the tent trailer and then Ray was able to sell it. It was a lot of work
for him. He is on the lookout for another RV.
Stephanie
and family moved back to Utah in August and have been our basement dwellers. Ha! We have had fun having their family living
with us. Steph is such a good cook. She
was such a great example on how to “endure to the end” as she went through
another hard pregnancy and delivery. Yeah Steph! Stockton is darling!
See you at the 2012 reunion in
Star Valley!
Love,
Ray and Becky
