I am so grateful for the opportunity
to do the newsletter this year. If there
was a sarcastic font, the previous sentence would be in it. I have a new found respect for all who have
done it in the past and have had to hound me to get ours in. I will do my very best to get it in sooner
in the following years. A big shout out
to Michelle for being the first one to get hers done AND also to the Ray
Humpherys family for being the first to have all of theirs in (without Uncle
Newell having to remind them)
Shawn still works
as a deputy sheriff for Bingham County. He continues to patrol the streets and
waterways. He is still happy with his
job which makes it easier to go to work.
He works 5 days on and 4 off and alternates shift every 2 months- days,
swings and graves. We all hate him
working graves because he gets grouchy! He does an occasional curbing job in the
summer. Of course, he hunts as much as
he can and when not hunting, he is practicing shooting his bow. This year for our annual Gerald Humpherys' Family pumpkin carving contest, Shawn went all out and carved an absolutely amazing pumpkin. (He asked me to say that). It truly was great!

Hilary- I am working as an LPN at 2 different hospitals- I am in the Medical Practice float pool at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. I have worked primarily offsite at the Urgent Care this past year. I also work occasionally at Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls on the Med/Surg floor. I work 1 day a week at the Sheriff’s Office in dispatch while in school, as I can often study there which helps out a lot. I love being a nurse and I can usually pick up shifts when I want/need to. I started back to school August in the RN program. This will give me more opportunities and better pay. I’m really sick of school and the program that I am in is intense but I am so thankful for the opportunity I have been given. I was voted the class president (no I’m not in high-school) which pretty much means that anytime the students have a complaint I am the liaison between them and the school ie: instructors. I have 1 ½ semester’s left and will be done in December. I have an awesome sister who helps out A LOT and makes my busy life easier.

Hayden is in the 4th
grade and turned 10 in February. He
played basketball again this year and enjoyed it. He is so excited to play football this
year. He made it through the year
without injuring himself too badly. He
was in the Missoula Children’s Theater production of The Tortoise and the
Hare. He was “Oggie Froggy” and had a
couple of speaking parts. It was fun to
watch him perform. Hayden watches ESPN as much as possible and our television
is constantly on a game. He loved going to almost all of Trae's games this past year and really looks up to both Trae and Carter. He loves the New
Orleans Saints. Shawn has been recently
teasing him about how bad they will be this next year due to recent suspensions & he's not taking it well. Hayden also got a new motorcycle this year and had a lot of fun riding it as much as possible.
Hadley turns 8
on the 19th of May. She is in
the 2nd grade and her teacher loves her. Parent-teacher-conferences pretty much go
something like this- “Hadley is wonderful, she is self-motivated and helps
everyone else in class.” “Is there
anything she needs to work on?” “No she
is ahead of where she is expected to be”.
I LOVE IT!! She was selected as “Principal
for the Day” which means that she was
nominated by her teacher and selected by the principal after interviews. Hadley played basketball again this year and
excelled. She is still the tallest in
her class which was sure helped out during basketball this year. She played great and even played in one of
Hayden’s games when they were short a player.
Hadley is in cheerleading again- Shawn still hates it with a
passion. I think that this will be her
last year with this group. She has been
in a couple of performances this year and will be in a competition on her
birthday at Lagoon. She’s excited to be
able to celebrate there. She was also in
the play this past summer with Hayden as a bunny cheerleader.
Hallie turned 5 in April. She
attended pre-school this year and is a litle social bug. She
starts kindergarten in the fall. She
loves to play, dance and sing. She is a
girly girl and wants to be in a dress or a skirt every day. She loves to have her hair curled and is
recently in to headbands. This year on Hallie’s
birthday, one of her gifts was wrapped in a light bulb box. When she opened the paper I tried to tease
her by saying “you got lightbulbs!”. Her
reaction was not expected, instead of throwing a fit (like her older brother
and sister) she hugged the box and said, “Thank you Mom, it’s just what I
wanted. I will put them in that lamp”. If attitude is everything, then Hallie
has it
made.

Hunter is 2 years old. He just
barely decided to start talking. No he
is not autistic J He can communicate just
fine by screaming and everyone runs to get what he wants. Hunter is could possibly be my most active
child. He is pretty much non-stop. At his 2 year old well visit, while he was
making laps around the exam table and climbing everything in sight, the doctor
told us that he might be the child that he sees the most. He did have to get stitches this past winter
after pinching his finger in a step stool he had pulled out and tried to open
and climb. Hunter loves his grandpa's horses too! He loves to hug and kiss-
especially other children. I have often
had to apologize for him making other kids cry due to hugging them too much or
too hard. Hunter especially loves his cousin Trae. Hunter lights up when he see's him and Trae is always so good to play with him and give him rides on Grandpa's motorcycle. We really were sad that we had to miss the reunion this year but had too many responsibilities at home this past summer. We are so excited to see everyone this summer and hope that as many as possible can make it.
Love,
Shawn, Hilary, Hayden, Hadley, Hallie &
Hunter.
