Trae is a senior this year.
I can’t believe how fast it has gone.
He has had a successful year.
Last summer he worked really hard in the weight room and got a lot
bigger. He had a great football season. His team went 12-0. They won the 4A state championship. Trae won many awards including 4A Player of
the Year for the state of Idaho, Channel 8 News, Post Register, and the Idaho
State Journal. He has received a
football scholarship to Snow College. He
will go for the fall semester and probably red shirt, and then leave on his
mission soon after the fall semester. He
also played on the basketball team this year and had a great year. He was the second leading scorer in the
conference. He played on the conference all
-star team and was invited to play on the State All-Star game held in Northern
Idaho. He scored 33 points in one
game. He decided to not play baseball
this year. I was a little happy and a
little sad at the same time. He has
decided to just workout and get ready for football. He is going with Nathan this summer to flag
for the railroad and to earn money for college and mission. I am so proud of him and am excited for him
to start a new chapter in his life.
Maddie has had a different year this year because she
transferred to Snake River High School this year. I fought it for a long time, but in the end
it was the right choice. She has had a
great year and has made a lot of new friends.
She played soccer, basketball, and is now doing track. Her soccer team was average but Maddie
herself did a wonderful job. She is very
strong and athletic and she loves playing soccer. Her basketball team took 3rd in
state. Maddie had a great last game of
the season. She was sick and they were
coming off of a loss from the night before.
She came out ready to play and shot and made her first 3 shots of the
game which were 3 pointers. She ended up
scoring about 14 or 15 points, but her coach credited the win to her because
she set the tone for the whole team. She
is now in track and she will probably go to state in her relay races and maybe
the 400 meter run.
Carter is having fun being a 7th grader. Probably too much fun. He has a lot of friends and tries to make
plans as much as possible to hang out with them. He has really grown also. Maddie is officially the shortest in the
family. He played football this year and
played offense and defense. He really
did well and he really loves it. He also
played on the 8th grade team this year as a 7th
grader. He didn’t get to play a lot at
the beginning of the year but as the season progressed he improved a ton. He figured out that the more he hustled and
made things happen the more he got to played and that it wasn’t all about
scoring. I am excited to see how much
more he grows. We tease Trae that by the
time he comes home from his mission, Carter will be able to take him down. Carter also decided not to play baseball this
year. I think he will play again next
year, but I will enjoy not having a game to be to every night. Carter also was just made the president of
his deacon’s class.
Nathan and I are doing the same old stuff; working on the
railroad, teaching first grade, and following our kids around.
Love You All, See You Soon!
