Stephanie & Drew 2011

Most of our 2011 was spent in Pasadena California where we were able to experience many fun things together as a family. We frequented the surrounding beaches as often as possible and also made trips to San Diego for Thanksgiving, Newell’s house for the reunion, Disneyland, and Universal Studios. Although very expensive and highly congested, we enjoyed our time in Southern Cali and made some great memories. In October we moved back to SLC and have enjoyed being able to once again spend a lot of time with family.

Drew continues to wonder what he wants to do when he grows up. He plans on attending law school this fall and is excited to tackle another educational challenge and see where it leads. School applications are in and we are just waiting to see where we will be moving next! In the meantime, Drew is working for Aramark Facilities and is watching as many BYU and Jazz games as possible.

Steph gave birth to our first baby boy on 1/22/12. Stockton Andrew Spear weighed 9 pounds 1 oz and measured 20 inches long. He has lots of dark hair and makes the cutest faces. Besides the late night feedings and diaper changes, Steph also serves in the Primary, takes care of our other two daughters, and continues to frequent the library, Michaels, and enjoys an occasional Whopper Jr.

Brooklyn is in the 2nd grade and turned eight this year. She was baptized by her dad and is transitioning well to now being accountable for her choices; constantly asking “Was that a sin?” J For the second year in a row she was chosen as ‘Student of the Year’ and continues to excel in all her studies, especially reading. She loves Star Wars, got a light saber for Christmas, and wishes her parents would have named her Princess Leia.

Riley is in preschool and will be turning 5 this summer. She has more energy than the entire family combined and keeps us on our toes. Her newest hobby is hula-hooping while whistling and snapping her fingers! She loves her new little brother and thinks that she must touch him every few seconds so that he knows it. She is working on reading and spelling and will be taking Kindergarten by storm this year.

Stockton is already bringing so much joy to his family and is a good baby. We can’t feed him enough; he sleeps often and only fusses when we change his diaper. We are just hoping that he stays this cute forever and never grows up!

We are looking forward to the year to come and hope that we will be able to cross paths with as many of you as possible. We are grateful for our many blessings and are as always glad to be a part of the Humpherys clan.
