Newell & Sally 2012

Memories Of The Year 2012
From The Humpherys Family

Thank you to Ryan for this year’s Humpherys Herald Family Newsletter!
The following are some good memories we had together in 2012—

The 33rd Annual Dean and Neva Humpherys Reunion was replaced this year with all who could come to Uncle Robert's Funeral in June. C.J. and I were the only ones from my family that could make it. It was a sad and happy occasion at the same time--sad, obviously, because we all will miss Uncle Robert so much. But happy in the sense that we will all see him again some day.

In August, we drove to Utah and had a nice visit with Camille, while Trevor and Damien attended the Jimmer Fredette Basketball Camp in Lehi.

In September,we flew to Arizona to attend Mercy's baptism on Labor Day weekend. We had a nice visit and a nice get together at the park next to C.J. and Laurie's home. Mercy's baptism was very special. Both Grandma's spoke at her baptism. In October for school break we rented a house in Fort Bragg and enjoyed the ocean and friends there. In December, I picked up Camille at the Colfax Train station, where she arrived after traveling from Salt Lake. I picked up C.J and Laurie and family at the Sacramento Airport a few days later. It was wonderful to have the whole family home for Christmas this year.

I am so grateful to have a family. I love each and every one. Sally does so much for all of us. Don't know what we would do without her.

Camille got to visit South Korea, and Thailand--I'm sure she will tell all about it in her news. She is still the Program Director of Personal Training and Fitness at Ameritech College. C.J. is still working for the Border Patrol in Arizona.

Trevor played on the Junior Varsity Basketball Team and was the leader in minutes played, points and assists. He also play in an all black AAU league in Sacramento, where he is the only white player on his team. They all love him on the team as their teammate.

Damien is getting better in basketball. He played on his 8th grade team. One of the parents after one of his games called him "The Rebound King". Besides leading the team in rebounds, he is getting better at driving to the hoop, and he is also a good three point shooter. Damien is still really good at repairing bikes.

Newell still enjoys being the Public Address Announcer for the Nevada Union Boys Varsity Basketball games. This is his 19th year. He is still teaching early morning Seminary. This is his 16th or 17th (something like that) year teaching Seminary. This year, the subject is The New Testament.

Sally still teaches part time for the High School District. She personally helps students on an individual basis. She helps each student get his/her diploma through a combination of home study, online classes, college classes and high school classes. She is an awesome teacher, and goes the extra mile with each student. She also spend hours each week helping Trevor and Damien with their homework.

Sally enjoys her calling as Ward Choir Director, and she teaches a Sunday School class to teenagers, one of which is Trevor.

Each year continues to go by too fast. We are grateful for all our blessings. We hope to see each of you soon, perhaps at another reunion.

WITH LOVE FROM NEWELL,SALLY, TREVOR, AND DAMIEN HUMPHERYS
