CJ & Laurie 2014

CJ and Laurie
Hey Melanie, thanks for being the one to put this together this year!!
Another newsletter, another year! This one has been a quiet one for us, the main trip being to the Humpherys reunion at Bear Lake. We all had an amazing time and the kids really miss all the fun they had with their cousins. Wish we lived closer! We had a blast going to see Carrie Underwood at the Stadium of Fire, I think that’s what cemented Mercy’s love of country music. We also got to have Sally, Newell and Damien visit us for a week over fall break and it was so much fun, if anyone ever has a hard time falling asleep you should have Damien serenade you to sleep with Justin Bieber songs.
Mercy’s in 5th grade now, having a blast. She loves her teacher and works hard, but has a lot of fun with her friends in her class too. Maybe a bit too much sometimes… She’s still dancing ballet, and performed in her 5th year of The Nutcracker. Mercy also started band at school and is playing the trumpet.
Porter is in 3rd grade and his teacher happens to be his best friend’s mom, so he’s really happy. He’s doing great but would much rather kick a soccer ball around than sit at a desk. His soccer team made it to the semi-finals in their league, Porter was really upset at the loss. Porter wants a rematch with Elliott, CJ and Damien next time we’re all together!
Jameson started 1st grade, his teacher truly appreciates his free-spiritedness and has really encouraged him to grow in his own way. He played flag football this fall and says he wants to play again but we’ll see if that lasts.
Quinn is happily the only one at home during the day, enjoying her time with mom and dad. She has this year and next before she starts kindergarten so she’s just enjoying life right now. She loves My Little Pony and Disney and can be bribed with either of those.
CJ just hit 10 years working for the government and is still enjoying working for the Border Patrol. He and I are still teaching youth Sunday School at church, I’ve been in that calling for almost 4 years now so I’m about ready for a break, as great as this years class is.
Oh, almost forgot the newest addition! CJ got me a husky puppy for my birthday, we named him Hawkeye and he’s neurotic enough to fit right in with our family. The kids love him and he’s great with them, and loves to play fight with CJ.
I don’t think we’re making the reunion this year, we hope to see everyone next year though!
