Previous years have brought many changes and adventures to our lives, and this year was no exception. In October, after one year in Provo, we moved to Pasadena California. We are enjoying our new surroundings, especially the nice weather. We have been able to visit many fun places over the last few months including; the LA Zoo, Huntington Library, San Diego for Thanksgiving, Disneyland, Venice Beach and Santa Monica. It has been great for the kids to see so much diversity and to experience new things.
Drew obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in May, left the hotel business and now works for Aramark Healthcare. He is the Director of Environmental Services at Huntington Memorial Hospital, a 600 bed trauma center, and oversees 150 employees. He stays extremely busy with work but loves spending all his free time with ‘the girls’ in his life.
Stephanie has adjusted well to the move and has enjoyed the warm and sunny winter weather. She quickly mapped out her driving routes that include the public library, Brooklyn’s school, the church, the grocery store, Michael’s craft, and the park. She spends her time being a fantastic mom to our two daughters and serving in the ward primary presidency.
Brooklyn is a first-grader and absolutely loves school. She was recently awarded student of the month for both math and reading. She loves all sorts of books and we even have to fight with her to put books down and come to dinner. She remains one of the tallest in her class and is a friend to all. She has a very big heart and is concerned about the well-being of others.
Riley is a non-stop, never-ending, ever-growing ball of energy. She doesn’t just keep up; she is usually one step ahead of us. She is prepping for pre-school by learning all that she can from her big sister and loves sharing a room and sleeping in bunk beds. She loves to challenge authority; sit is stand, walk is run, and no is yes! Riley gives the best hugs and loves to play with dinosaurs.
We enjoyed being able to live in Provo for a year and be so close to family. We are blessed to have such great family relationships and to be able to continue those even being so far away. We are thankful for the Gospel in our lives and for all of our many blessings. If you find yourself in the SoCal area, stop by for a visit.
We wish all you a great 2011!
