Hello
Humpherys Family-
This past year I felt like I was pregnant all year
long. I was asking Elliot what happened
last year and that’s what he said, “You were pregnant.” Ha!
Some Highlights of the year for us were, Elliot’s little
sister got married and I helped decorate for the reception, We found out I was
pregnant in February, Stephanie came to visit 3 times (not enough but I’ll take
what I can get), we told my family I was pregnant on Easter Sunday they were all
so surprised, Josie graduated Kindergarten, we had to buy a van and I didn’t
think I’d like it but it’s awesome. We went to Lake Powell like we do every
year to visit the lake and Elliot’s grandparents, Josie started First grade in
September, and last but not least Wesley Ray was born in October.
I was called to be the Primary President a year ago in
October after serving 2 years as the 1st counselor. I enjoy being in the
primary but I am not sure about being in charge, I’d rather have someone else
just tell me what to do. I’ve kept busy doing sewing projects, and lots of
organizing to get ready for the baby. A lot of my friends moved away this past
summer and that was hard. I was also busy with my girls trying to keep up with
them all year being big and pregnant.
Elliot just got released as the ward financial clerk and is
now the ward athletic director his dream calling. He just started school at the
UofU to finish his bachelor as a Certified Financial Planner. He keeps busy
with me and the kids, going to the gym and watching his UFC and ball games.
Josie just turned 7 and she has lost a total of 8
teeth. This past summer she learned how
to Rollerblade and took her first swimming lessons. She’s very coordinated and
did great. She also started piano lessons this summer and is doing very well.
She is very musically talented just like her dad. Josie is a sweetheart and
wants to be everyone’s friend. She helps
me out a lot and she plays pretty well with her little sister (when she’s in
the mood)
Carly learned how to ride a bike with training wheels this
past summer and loved it. She loves playing with friends, dancing, and making
her family laugh. Carly is a little too smart for her own good but she keeps us
on our toes. She started preschool in December and has enjoyed that. She tells
me every time I pick her up that she’s the only good kid in her class.
Wesley “Wes” Ray Decker was born October 23rd 2013 at 8:05
am he weighed 9 lbs 13 oz and was almost 22 inches long. No wonder I was so
uncomfortable. The doctor started laughing when he came out, she couldn't
believe how big he was. I would describe Wes as baby that knows what he wants.
He is always hungry, not the best sleeper but he makes up for it with his
smile. He smiles even when he’s upset. He is very happy once all his needs are
met. He loves to laugh and he’s starting to play with toys. We are so happy to
have him in our family, the girls just adore him.
We hope to
see everyone at the reunion!
Love,
Elliot, Melanie, Josie, Carly and
Wesley Decker
