Spear
Family
We spent all of this past year living in Indianapolis and
over the winter were privileged to experience Indiana’s most snowy winter in
history! Truth is, we just barely survived and are ready for summer to begin!
Drew continues to stay busy with both school and work. The
master closet has now been converted to an office for him and he spends many a
late night in there studying. The plan is to graduate next year and open his
own law practice sometime after passing the bar exam. He has somehow found the
time to enjoy a Colts game and a few Pacers games as well.
Stephanie enjoys the area and has compiled a great network
of friends. A weekly girl’s night is known to consist of book club,
scrapbooking, or just watching The Bachelor. She even started a new group
called the ‘Lunch Bunch’ where, you guessed it, food is involved. She stays
busy managing the household and dealing with the ever-changing and developing
attitudes and personalities of our wonderful children.
Brooklyn is in 4th grade and continues to be an excellent
student. She wants to grow up so fast but at the same time would be content
just reading in her room all day. She takes weekly piano lessons and has
improved her skills immensely over the past year. She is getting some guitar
instruction as well and hopes to someday learn the violin. It is learning
experience for everyone as Brooklyn learns to deal with the “tough” things in
life without too much drama and to enjoy the good things in life without too
much enthusiasm. (We are looking for a balance of some sort…)
Riley is in 1st grade and academically does very well. She
picked up the good reading genes from her mom as well, however she also picked
up some self-control, listening, and obeying shortcomings. (It seems that she
got a little from both her mom and dad!) She completed a season of gymnastics
and now does cartwheels and round offs throughout the house.
Stockton is the cutest boy ever and melts our hearts nearly
every single day. His vocabulary is growing quickly and he is good at getting
his point across. He has very expressive eyebrows and uses them to convey his
feelings. He has a classic scowl that he whips out when he is not happy and it
is hard not to laugh. He loves watching Bubble Guppies with his sisters and
some kind of ball with his dad.
