Stephanie & Drew 2014

Stephanie and Drew

The Spear Family continues to enjoy living in Indianapolis and plans on staying in the area for the foreseeable future. One of the highlights of our year was the family trip we took to Washington D.C. in March where we were able to spend 4 days exploring our nation’s capitol and taking in many of the great museums and exhibits it has to offer. We enjoyed a three-week visit to Utah in July where we were able to go camping on the 20 acres, attend the annual Dean and Neva reunion, had fun at Lagoon and much more. We also spent three weeks in Utah during the month of December where we were able to enjoy Christmas, Josie’s baptism, and participate in Drew’s sister, Whitney’s, wedding.

Drew spent the entire year busy with both school and work and is set to graduate from law school in May. He will be taking the bar exam in July and will open ‘Spear Legal Services’ soon after that. Drew has interests in estate planning, elder law, and immigration and is looking forward to leaving school behind once and for all. He looks forward to being his own boss and is hoping to having a little more free time to spend with the family.

Stephanie is due in April with a baby girl and is hoping to survive this last pregnancy. She recently got to the point where she needs help putting on her socks. She stays busy shuttling the kids all over town and is currently working closely with Stockton on his potty training efforts. When she has a few minutes to herself she enjoys working on puzzles, reading, and keeping the family scrapbooks up-to-date.

Brooklyn will be turning 12 this year and is quickly becoming a young woman. She is moving up the ranks in karate and currently holds a green belt. Her piano practice efforts are really paying off as well and she is becoming a talented pianist. She discovered Harry Potter this past year and has become a fanatical expert on the subject.

Riley is wise, sarcastic, and funny beyond her of age of 7. She keeps us on our toes with her energy and attitude and entertains us with her wit and humor. Riley has found an enjoyment of soccer and played in both the spring and fall of last year, where she used her aggressive style of play to have a successful season. She is excited for her upcoming baptism.

Stockton continues to be the cutest little three-year old ever. He didn’t have a case of the ‘terrible two’s’ although that may be attributed to the fact that we hardly ever say ‘no’ to him because he is so adorable. Even when he does something wrong, he is so quick to apologize, and we’re not sure where he learned that! Stockton loves cars, trucks, airplanes, bubble guppies, animal crackers, and anything with sugar in it.

We are appreciative of all the blessings we have received this past year and look forward to making this year a great year as well. Although we are geographically located far from the majority of the family, we think about you all often and hope to see as many of you as possible sometime soon.

Love,

Drew, Stephanie, Brooklyn, Riley, & Stockton Spear
